This is the traditional way of mounting solar panels to a property and is often used for retrofitting panels to an existing slate or tile roof.
A bracket is attached to the roof and a horizontal rail is fixed to allow the solar panels to be mounted. This results in the solar panels being about 150mm above the roof profile. The systems are fully water tight and offer a quick way to install solar.
Benefits of an Over-Roof System:
-
Tiles or slates do not need to be removed (less work required)
-
Installation doesn’t disturb or break any existing Asbestos slates
-
Protects the existing old roof elements
-
Utilises unused roof space
